On 9 May the delegation of the Republic of Slovenia to the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA) issued a public statement condeming an incident of Holocaust denial in late April in a TV interview Sreda v sredo featuring Bernard Brščič, in which he denied the Holocaust.


The end of April 2014 marked the 70th anniversary of the largest deportations of Jews from Slovenian territory.


The National Education Institute, the Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor and the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Slovenia recently organized a seminar on the history of Jews in Slovenia.


On 26 November 2013, a workshop on the use of audio-visual tools in the teaching of Holocaust took place in Maribor, Slovenia.


On 2 June 2013, the first Holocaust museum in Slovenia was opened in the Lendava Synagogue.


On 23 May 2013, the Center of Jewish Cultural Heritage Synagogue Maribor organised a literary-musical evening "Cintor," which took place in Maribor to commemorate the 69th anniversary of mass deportations of Jews from the Prekmurje region to concentration camps.


On 22 April 2013, the President of the Republic Slovenia, Mr Borut Pahor, planted a chestnut tree sapling donated by the Anne Frank House at the Arboretum Volčji Potok public park.
