Holocaust Theatre Catalogue

24.02.2015

The  National Jewish Theater Foundation (NJTF) invites you and your theater, museum or educational entity to be a part of an inaugural event honoring the victims of the Holocaust on Monday April 13, 2015.

The NJTF would like to enocurage participation in Remembrance Readings for Holocaust Remembrance Day (Yom HaShoah). Having recently launched this initiative in San Diego, the NTFJ is proud to welcome La Jolla Playhouse, Old Globe and North Coast Repertory as participants along with Holocaust organizations in Atlanta, Chicago, South Florida and New York City.

The launch of the NJTF Holocaust Theater Catalog, housed online at the University of Miami Miller Center for Contemporary Judaic Studies, has marked a ground-breaking year, changing the landscape of Holocaust research, education and awareness. With nearly 600 play entries written on the subject of the Holocaust since 1933 to the present day, it is the most extensive, easily accessible catalog of Holocaust related titles ever created.

Join organizations across the country by selecting a play from the Holocaust Theater Catalog for a staged reading, followed up by a discussion with the audience members about the lessons of the Holocaust and the relevance of those lessons in today's world. Our greatest tools for sustaining remembrance are participation, information and education, which theater exemplifies and delivers in a profound way.
