On 6 December 2017, the Swiss Embassy to the United States will hold a panel discussion entitled "Holocaust Education, Youth and Social Media" within the framework of the Swiss Chairmanship of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance. The event is hosted by Ambassador of Switzerland to the United States, Dr Martin Dahinden and includes the participation of Head of the United States Delegation to the IHRA, Thomas Yazdgerdi.
IHRA Honorary Chairman, Professor Yehuda Bauer, has issued the following statement: "The 'Unite the Right' rally which took place in Charlottesville last week, in which counter-protester Heather Heyer was murdered, not only leaves a stain on America but is also a timely reminder of the perpetual need to combat the twisted ideology of the far-right everywhere it appears.
From 14 - 18 October a conference entitled "Memory Building: Engaging Society in Self-Reflective Museums' will be held in Cincinnati, Ohio. The conference is a joint endeavour between the International Committee for Architecture and Museum Techniques and the International Committee of Memorial Museums in Remembrance of the Victims of Public Crimes.
From 12-15 April 2018 the Strassler Center will host the Fourth International Graduate Student Conference on Holocaust and Genocide Studies, in cooperation with the Research Institute of Contemporary Jewry at the Hebrew University, Jerusalem. The conference will provide a forum for advanced doctoral students and early post-docs to present their research projects to peers and established scholars.
On Wednesday 26 April 2017, more than 450 middle and high school students and their teachers attended a multimedia presentation titled “The Children of Willesden Lane” at United Nations New York Headquarters.

The IHRA Honorary Chairman, Professor Yehuda Bauer, issues a statement on the recent decisions in the USA:
"As Honorary Chairman of the International Holocaust Remembrance Alliance (IHRA), with its 31 Member Countries and eleven Observer Countries, I was extremely surprised that in the statement issued on behalf of President Trump on International Holocaust Memorial Day (January 27), the Holocaust was interpreted in a deeply erroneous way, and no specific mention was made of Jews or of antisemitism, which motivated the Holocaust.
Yale University intends to appoint a Postdoctoral Associate in the Study of Antisemitism for the academic year 2017-18.
On 29 November, the USC Shoah Foundation is participating in Giving Tuesday with its campaign #Beginswithme. Giving Tuesday, a worldwide day of philanthropy, is observed the Tuesday after Thanksgiving.
