The Holocaust Education Series is presented by the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre from October 26 to November 6, 2011: 10 days of testimonies, workshops, films, expert presentations and discussions that place memory at the heart of our future.
The Holocaust Education Series helps us all understand how human rights violations and genocide are part of our history. Further knowledge about the Holocaust and about acting today on prejudice and for human rights is clearly a stepping stone to living together in harmony.
ITF Chair Karel de Beer will be participating in the "Holocaust Denial and Antisemitism, a Contemporary Threat?" panel discussion on 27 October at the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre. Other special events include a professional development conference for educators about teaching the Holocaust on 27 October, and a seminar on the Roma genocide featuring ITF expert Gerhard Baumgartner on 30 October.
The Holocaust Education Series encompasses 21 activities open to all members of the public from October 26 - November 6, 2011. There will be additional pre- and post-Series events as well. For more information on the program, please visit the Montreal Holocaust Memorial Centre's website.
