'Rethinking and Teaching Nazism'

From 1-6 December in Berlin, the second annual seminar for Italian language teachers was held on the topic 'Rethinking and teaching Nazism'.

25 Italian teachers participated in the seminar in English and French, which was simultaneously translated into Italian. Subjects range from developments of perpetrator images, German resistance, the Wannsee Conference, dealing with the history of Nazism in Germany and the deportations from Italy and participants listened to presentations as well as taking part in discussion sessions.

The seminar was a cooperation between the Memorial de la Shoah in Paris, the House of the Wannsee Conference Memorial and Educational Site, the German Historical Institute in Rome, the Berlin-Schöneweide Nazi Forced Labor Documentation Center, the Topography of Terror Foundation, Memorial to the Murdered Jews of Europe and Information Center, The German Resistance Memorial Center and the Sachsenhausen Memorial und Museum.
 
IHRA delegates Dr Thomas Lutz and Bruno Boyer led sessions at the seminar.
