On 5 October 2012, the Hellenic Ministry of Foreign Affairs in Athens hosted a conference entitled "Never, Ever Be a Bystander."
ITF Chair Ambassador Jan Deboutte attended and addressed the conference. Speeches were also given by Secretary General Ambassador Vassilis Kaskarelis and Secretary General of Ministry of Education George Kalantzis.
Presentations including "Legislation and Measures taken by the Greek State: Policies Towards Keeping the Memory of the Holocaust Alive" by Photini Tomai-Constantopoulou, Head of the Greek Delegation to the ITF, "Holocaust Remembrance and Education" by Zanet Battinou, Director of the Jewish Museum of Greece and member of the Greek Delegation, and "The Greek Permanent Exhibition in Auschwitz-Birkenau State Museum of the Holocaust."
Dr. Vassilis Ritzaleos of the State Archives and Yiftach Meiri from the International School of Holocaust Education at Yad Vashem also addressed academic research topics.
