ECB to Construct Holocaust Memorial in Frankfurt

The President of the European Central Bank Jean-Claud Trichet unveiled last week the winning design for an upcoming Holocaust memorial at its new headquarters in Frankfurt.
Trichet said the ECB has been working closely with the Jewish Community of Frankfurt and the City of Frankfurt to establish a memorial in commemoration of the deportation of Jewish citizens from the Grossmarkthalle.
A design competition was launched and concluded with the selection of Katzkaiser GbR, an architecture firm based in Cologne, Germany.
