The United States Holocaust Memorial Museum’s Jack, Joseph and Morton Mandel Center for Advanced Holocaust Studies has contributed significantly to research on killing sites with its fellowships, research workshops, and numerous publications. Cooperation with Yahad – In Unum deserves particular mention, as it has led to several important conferences, including the “Holocaust in Ukraine” (2007), “Operation 1005” (2009), and “Mass Graves of the Holocaust” (2011).  Yahad’s archive of witness video testimonies is available for research at the Museum in Washington. The Mandel Center's International Archival Program has provided numerous resources, such as the files of the Soviet Extraordinary State Commission (ChGK), or documents on the Holocaust under Romanian authority. Mapping initiatives include the “Geographies of the Holocaust” project.

See as well the entry on Radu Ioanid, Director of the USHMM’s International Archival Program.
