Since 1951 the Conference on Jewish Material Claims Against Germany has negotiated for material compensation and restitution in order to achieve what it considers a “small measure of justice for Jewish victims of Nazi persecution”. It is composed of 26 international Jewish organizations. While individual compensations for Holocaust survivors and the allocation of funds for social care programs continue to be at its core, the Claims Conference supports Shoah research, education and documentation programs as well. In this framework pioneering projects in the field of killing sites, such as Lo Tishkach, Yahad – In Unum, or Yad Vashem’s online-platform “The Untold Stories” have received considerable support. The Claims Conference is one of IHRA’s Permanent International Partners.
