UNESCO creates new Chair for Holocaust Education with the Jagiellonian University in Krakow

UNESCO and the Jagiellonian University, based in Krakow, Poland have signed an agreement for the establishment of a new Chair for Holocaust Education.

In line with UNESCO’s commitment to promote education for Holocaust remembrance, the new Chair will engage in research on the Holocaust and other forms of genocide and propose programmes at the Master and Doctoral levels, as well as postgraduate courses.

It also aims to develop new programmes to train educators, and to serve as a platform to foster national and international cooperation with other universities and academic institutions involved in the field.

The new UNESCO Chair for Holocaust Education will be integrated to the Jagiellonian University Centre for Holocaust Studies.
