On 16 December 2013, the Republic of Serbia organized a commemorative ceremony to mark the national remembrance day of the Roma genocide during World War II.
The ceremony took place at the site of the mass grave of civilian victims of the war on the grounds of the Svratiste Memorial in Jabuka, near Pancevo.
The main commemorative ceremony was led by Health Minister Ms. Slavica Djukic Dejanovic, the envoy of the Serbian Prime Minister.
The state ceremony was attended by the survivors, representatives of the Roma national minority, the city of Pancevo, representatives of the diplomatic corps, associations and citizens.
