The Belarus Holocaust Memorials Project is a private initiative which aims to erect memorials at Holocaust killing sites throughout Belarus. Founded in 2003 by Diana and Michael Lazarus (UK), it is supported by three family foundations from the United Kingdom and the USA. Together with local partners, Jewish communities and organizations across Belarus, a Committee was created which provides crucial support in identifying locations and coordinating the construction of memorials. 90 Holocaust memorials, designed by late Belarussian architect Leonid Levin, have been erected as of 2015. There are about 400 Holocaust killing sites in Belarus, each of for which the project seeks to erect a memorial.
