Andrej Angrick is a historian, consultant, and researcher affiliated with the Hamburg Foundation for the Promotion of Science and Culture. He published numerous books and articles about the Holocaust in the Soviet Union, including “Besatzungspolitik und Massenmord. Die Einsatzgruppe D in der südlichen Sowjetunion” (2003), and “The ‘Final Solution’ in Riga. Exploitation and Annihilation, 1941-1944” (with Peter Klein, 2009). He is co-editor of a comprehensive three-volume edition of Einsatzgruppen reports (2011-2014). His latest research focuses on the Nazis’ attempt to dissimulate traces at killing sites by unearthing and burning corpses - he presented the findings of “Operation 1005” (forthcoming) at IHRA’s “Killing Sites” conference in Krakow.
