IHRA Delegation in Vatican

On 3 March, the IHRA Chair attended meetings in the Vatican, accompanied by the IHRA Executive Secretary, Dr Kathrin Meyer, the Advisor to the IHRA, Professor Steven Katz, and by the Head of the Romanian Delegation to the IHRA, Ambassador Razvan Rusu.
The IHRA delegation and the Hungarian Ambassador to the Holy See, Dr. Habsburg-Lotharingiai, met with Father Norbert Hofmann, secretary of the Vatican Commission for Religious Relations With the Jews, and Cardinal Koch. Father Norbert Hofmann was appointed as the Vatican liaison for IHRA issues in 2015.
A meeting was also held with Monsignor Antoine Camileri, Under-Secretary for Relations with States.
The IHRA has carried out outreach to the Vatican for many years and hopes to explore opportunities to work on common projects together.
The Vatican was an original attendee of the International Stockholm Forum on the Holocaust in 2000.
