UNESCO has produced a new brochure entitled "Why Teach Holocaust Education?"
The UNESCO brochure Why Teach about the Holocaust? allows interested policy-makers, educators and students to explore the educational potential of dealing with one of the darkest pages of our common history. It brings to the fore universal issues raised by the history of the Holocaust, presents educators with some of the main challenges and opportunities of teaching about genocide and provides an overview of the variety of resources available in the field.
The brochure, developed by UNESCO’s Education Sector, is available in the six official languages of the United Nations: English, French, Spanish, Russian, Chinese and Arabic.
To obtain hard copies or any further information about the document, please contact Mr. Karel Fracapane, Focal Point for Holocaust Education, at k.fracapane [at] unesco.org.
