UN Panel Discussion on “United Nations War Crimes Commission Records: Past, Present and Future”

12.11.2014

On Tuesday 11 November, The Holocaust and the United Nations Outreach Programme hosted an event on the UN War Crimes Commission Records (1943-1949) at the UN Headquarters in New York.

The Commission played a major role in preparing for the war crimes trials that followed World War II, and its archives include evidence against war criminals as well as records of trials within various Member States.

A panel of experts discussed the content of these archival documents, their impact on the development of international law and the International Criminal Court, as well as their potential use by and value to students and academics. The webcast of the event can be viewed here.
