LJCC Launches Expanded “The Holocaust Explained” Website

28.11.2012

The London Jewish Cultural Center has added a new platform to the website www.theholocaustexplained.org, a Holocaust education resource for secondary school children.

The launch of Key Stage 4 (KS4) for ages 14-16 complements the already existing Key Stage 3 (KS3) for students ages 11-14.

The site is a major KS3 and KS4 resource for both school and home-based study.  It is designed to support the school curriculum and has images (pictures, maps, videos, diagrams) to help explain concepts and events. There is text to describe the historical events and "reflective learning activities" to enhance students' understanding of the issues and concepts.

The site contains over 500 web pages, 1000 media sets, a glossary of over 720 words and 11 oral testimonies of survivors.  More information can be found in the fact sheet.
