An agreement on cooperation in the field of education, remembrance and research on Holocaust was signed in Paris on 10 October 2012 by Jacques Fredj, director of the Mémorial de la Shoah, Nataša Jovičić, director of the Jasenovac Memorial Site, and Vinko Filipović, director of the Education and Teacher Training Agency.

The event was attended by Andrea Zlatar-Violić, Croatian Minister of Culture, and experts from both sides including Luc Lévy, Iannisa Rodera and Patricie Debico from the Mémorial de la Shoah, and Loranda Miletić from the Education and Teacher Training Agency.

The Minister of Culture Andrea Zlatar-Violić emphasized that the agreement affirms Croatia as a country that sincerely faced its heavy past, aiming to make Jasenovac and its Education Centre a place for teaching on the Holocaust and genocide as a basis for education on peace, understanding, and respect for differences and with the purpose of permanent prevention of evil.

The agreement opens possibilities for the additional education of teachers from the Republic of Croatia at the Mémorial de la Shoah and further participation of French experts in Croatian national and regional professional meetings. Besides the importance of cooperation with the best experts in further development of the Memorial Museum in Jasenovac, Andrea Zlatar-Violić also accentuated its importance in the shaping of museological concepts of future Museum in Stara Gradiška and the new exhibition in Auschwitz-Birkenau.
