“To Me There’s No Other Choice” Exhibition Opens in Estonia

The Estonian Museum of Occupations, in collaboration with the Swedish Embassy in Estonia, has organized the exhibition "To me there's no other choice" at the Museum of Occupations in Tallinn, Estonia.

The exhibition marks the 100th anniversary of Raoul Wallenberg's birth.

In connection with the the opening of the exhibition,  a mini seminar with two lectures was held during the opening event on Tuesday, 23 October 2012 in Tallinn. The following lectures were presented:

  • About Raoul Wallenberg's Connections to Estonia- Mr. Pekka Erelt, newspaper Eesti Ekspress
  • Civic Courage: Surviving as an Idealist in an Unforgiving World- Mr. Brian Palmer, Uppsala University

The exhibition "To me there's no other choice - Raoul Wallenberg 1912 - 2012" was produced by the Swedish Institute on behalf of the Swedish Ministry for Foreign Affairs in collaboration with the Living History Forum. It is currently on tour internationally as well as in Sweden. In Estonia, an abridged version of the exhibition is on display at the Museum of Occupations in Tallinn.

On Friday, 26 October 2012 the 1990 Swedish film "Good Evening Mr Wallenberg" will be shown at the Museum. The film is directed by Kjell Grede and features Stellan Skarsgård as Raoul Wallenberg. A film evening is also scheduled at the Pärnu Central Library in Pärnu, Estonia on Wednesday, 31 October 2012.
