French Holocaust Records Exhibited for First Time

18.07.2012

Archives of the Prefecture of Police in Paris have been opened to the public for the first time in a new exhibition.

The archives focus on the Vel d'Hiv roundup of 16-17 July 1942, in which thousands of Jews were arrested and held in the Vélodrome d'Hiver and Drancy internment camp.  The opening of the exhibition coincides with the 70th anniversary commemoration events.

The exhibition is presented by the Third District of Paris and the History and Memory Association.  The archives will be on display at the City Hall of the Third District until 15 September 2012.
