EC launches #ExitHate

17.10.2016

A new campaign launched by the European Commission's Radicalisation Awareness Network(RAN) aims to provide an alternative to the appeal of narratives from extremist propaganda by collecting personal narratives of people affected by extremism and hate crimes.

The project, entitled Exit Hate, tells a range of personal stories including people affected by hate crimes, a former member of the English Defence League, a former militant for the Spanish ETA and a former member of an islamist extremist group.

RAN is a network of frontline or grassroots practitioners from around Europe who work daily with people who have already been radicalised, or who are vulnerable to radicalisation. Practitioners include police and prison authorities, but also those who are not traditionally involved in counter-terrorism activities, such as teachers, youth workers, civil society representatives, local authorities representatives and healthcare professionals.
